Large Barbizet Majolica Palissy fish, reptile & insect platter

Victorian, circa 1870. 3.5ins high, 17.7ins wide, 12.6ins depth. Barbizet French Palissy Majolica platter which features a fish, reptiles, insects and leaves.



Colouration: green, blue, ochre, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. Shallow chip to frog's front right leg.



KILN EFFECTS: a few tiny shrinkage cracks to fish's tail fin, lizard's legs and a couple of the leaves.











A shrinkage crack to the underside.



RESTORATION. Filled chip to lower fin.



Second back fin reglued and join retouched.
