
Victorian, circa 1890. 9.3ins high, 9.3ins wide, 3.1ins depth. Cunha Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features an odd turtle-like sea creature,
a frog, grubs, lizard, worm, and moths.
Colouration: green, brown, ochre, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Cunha pottery.
CONDITION: Generally good.
Small chips and some small flakes to shredded clay.
Chip to one moth's wing,
and to glaze accumulation to foot rim.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze.
RESTORATION. Filled chip to foot rim.
