Majolica Palissy melon toothpick holder

Victorian, circa 1890. 3.3ins high, 4.3ins wide, 4.3ins depth. Palissy Majolica toothpick holder which features a cut opened water melon.

Colouration: green, cream, puce, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good. No restoration. Flaking to the interior.

Some small flakes to the edges.

KILN EFFECTS: piece of kiln detritus caught inside causing piece to rattle;
a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze;

touch marks to the rim.
