Rare Brard Majolica Palissy mackerel platter
Victorian, circa 1880. 1.6ins high, 15.4ins wide, 11.4ins depth. Brard French Palissy Majolica platter which features fish: a mackerel with a gold/silver finish, a red gurnard, a dab and two shells.
Colouration: blue, grey, brown, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Brard pottery.

Condition
CONDITION: Good. No restoration.
Flakes to all three fish and rim.
KILN EFFECTS: small firing pits to the ground;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to the ground;
shrinkage crack to dab tail.
