Wedgwood Majolica salt which features a dolphin balancing a clam shell on its back.
Colouration: turquoise, green, ochre, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Wedgwood pottery. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1889.
Good. Small flake to gill fins on side of dolphin's face.
KILN EFFECTS: slight stained crazing to the shell interior;
manufacture chip to the base of dolphin's tail.
RESTORATION: Filled chip to the shell rim.
Retouched flakes to the shell rim and dolphin's nose.
