Minton Majolica plate with pierced rim and cherubs

Victorian, circa 1863. 9.8ins high, 9.8ins wide, 1.2ins depth.

Minton Majolica plate which features embossed floral pattern to centre, surrounded by six mottled plaques, cherub scenes and pierced sections to rim.

Colouration: green, cobalt blue, brown, are predominant.

Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1863.

Condition

Good. No restoration.

Very tight hairline to rim.

Light scratches from use.

KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the ground.
