Minton Majolica gun dog game pie dish

Victorian, circa 1872. 8.1ins high, 14.6ins wide, 7.5ins depth.

Minton Majolica game pie dish with liner which features a hunting dog asleep next to a rifle, a powder flask and a game bag.

Colouration: cream, grey, green, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '964'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1872.

Condition

Cover: Good. No restoration. Very tight hairline to rim.

Slight wear to basket weave.

KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the ground.

Liner: Very good. No restoration.

Dish: Good. No restoration. Tight hairline to interior rim.

Small flakes to bird's wing.

Slight wear to handles.
