Majolica Parrot and Butterfly plate

Victorian, circa 1880. 9ins high, 9ins wide, 0.8ins depth. Majolica plate which features a parrot perched on a branch. Colouration: cobalt blue, brown, ochre, are predominant.

Condition

Good. Some wear to the high points of the molding.

KILN EFFECTS: three stilt marks to the reverse;

glaze miss to the interior;

slight glaze run to the ochre glaze on inner rim;

piece of kiln detritus caught in the glaze.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to underside of rim.
