
Victorian, circa 1870. 9.4ins high, 10.8ins wide, 7.6ins depth. Holdcroft Majolica cheese keep which features unusual wedge-shaped form, a branch handle and blossom to the sides. Cobalt blue ground version. Colouration: cobalt blue, white, brown, are predominant.
Cover: Good. Small flake to handle.
Some light scratches to exterior.
KILN EFFECT: glaze run to the cobalt blue and green glazes.
RESTORATION: Filled chips to one leaf tip,
bottom rim and one bottom corner.
Retouched flakes to exterior.
Stand: Good. No restoration. Slight wear around the rim.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze pops to the interior;
kiln soot caught in the glaze to the rim;
a speck of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the interior.
