Minton majolica vase supported by three mermen
Victorian, circa 1859. 16.7ins high, 11.8ins wide, 11.8ins depth. Minton Majolica vase which features 3 mermen supporting a shell vase. Minton blue ground version. Colouration: cobalt blue, green, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1859.

Condition
Generally good. Hairline to base edge.
Small flake to one shell.
KILN EFFECTS: piece of kiln detritus caught inside causing piece to rattle; glaze miss to the interior;
shrinkage line to one tail.
RESTORATION: All three heads reglued and joins retouched.
Stabilised and retouched crack to chest of one.
Filled chip to rim.
