Schiller Majolica Elephant spill vase

Victorian, circa 1890. 5.5ins high, 4.3ins wide, 3.9ins depth.

Schiller Majolica spill vase which features an elephant between two bamboo spills.



Colouration: ochre, grey, cream, are predominant.





The piece bears maker's marks for the Schiller pottery.






Condition

Generally good. KILN EFFECT: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze.









RESTORATION: Two stabilised and retouched hairlines to one spill.





Filled chip to elephant's left back foot,



and filled chip to base.



Retouched flakes to spill rims.



Stabilised bruise to spill rim.
