Pair Minton Majolica boy/girl with basket figures

Victorian, circa 1863. Tallest is 8.5ins high, 4.3ins wide, 3.9ins depth. Pair of Minton Majolica figurals which feature a boy and girl each holding a basket.





Colouration: green, brown, ochre, are predominant.





The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1863.







Condition

CONDITION: Female: Generally good. Very tight hairline to left ankle and underside base edge.







RESTORATION. Two sections to basket rim reglued and joins retouched.





Remodelled thumb and finger to right hand.



Filled chip to hem of waistcoat.



Male: Good. Some small flakes to the lower base rim at the reverse.





KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to basket interior.



RESTORATION. Head reglued and join retouched.
