Mounted to conservator standards on acid free card with chipboard backing.
The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches including Algerian eye.
Simple line border. Colours red, cream, dark brown, gold, greens and blues. Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case and numbers 1-17.
Verse reads
'Time is a thing which none Anough can prize
Time hasts away and with Great swiftness flys
The Little Time which God to Thee doth lend
On it doth Thy Eternity Depend'.
Signed 'Hannah Durant Aged 9'.
A scattering of motifs, including potted flowering plants and flowers.
CONDITION: Good. No holes. No stains other than slight uniform age darkening of the ground. No stitch losses. Colours are mostly good and strong with no noticeable fading. No colour run. Stretching is slightly uneven.
Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
