
George III, circa 1800. 15.75ins by 10.5ins wide. Circa 1800 Sampler by Hannah Gedge. Framed in an old wood frame with gilt slip and glass.
Mounted to conservator standards on acid free card with chipboard backing.
The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches including Algerian eye.
Meandering strawberry border.
Colours greens, red, gold, black, blues and cream. Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case and numbers 1-9.

A few motifs including a large potted flowering plant,
crowns, a heart, diamond shapes and strawberries.
CONDITION: Generally good.
One small hole
and one repaired hole.
A few pale patchy stains.
Minor stitch losses to the border and motifs.
Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading.
No colour run.
Neatly and evenly stretched.
Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
