George II, dated 1727. 18ins by 8.25ins wide. Antique Sampler, 1727 Band Sampler by Mary Harison. Framed in an old wood frame with glass.

Mounted to conservator standards on acid free card with card with wood and brown paper backing.

The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches.

No border, divider lines in various patterns.

Colours cream, blue, white, green and brown. Alphabets A-Z in upper case and family initials.

Inscription reads

'FEAR GOD AND KEP HIIS COMMANDM

MENTS'.

Signed and dated 'Mary Harison 1727 September 2'.

Consists of a variety of elaborately worked floral and foliate bands.

CONDITION: Good. No holes. Two slight patchy stains.

Colours are slightly faded, but still well defined.

No colour run. Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
