Staffordshire black & white spaniel with bow pitcher
Victorian, circa 1860. 7.8ins high, 5.9ins wide, 3ins depth. Staffordshire jug/pitcher which features a spaniel with a bow, seated directly on the ground, no base.
Black and white version. Dull gilt embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.

Condition
CONDITION: Generally good.
Some rubbing to gilt.
Wear to the reverse.
KILN EFFECTS: shallow firing crack next to the left eye;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to the reverse;
small firing pit to front of the jug rim.
RESTORATION. Filled chip to rim at the reverse.
Retouched paint losses to muzzle,
eyes,
bow
an paws.
