Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 6.5ins high, 10ins wide, 5.1ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a spaniel, recumbent directly on the ground, no base.
Dull gilt collar and locket. Decorated mainly to the front.
Vent hole to underside of one and reverse of the other.
Condition
CONDITION: Right facing: Good.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack between the tail and hind leg;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to the reverse;
shrinkage line along the mold join.
RESTORATION. Front left paw reglued and join retouched.
Retouched paint losses to muzzle
and markings.
Left facing: Very good. No restoration.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the black glaze;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to the front and reverse.
