Pair staffordshire spaniels with pups
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 6.3ins high, 5ins wide, 2.6ins depth.
Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a russet and white spaniel with a black and white recumbent pup, seated on a cobalt blue base.
Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Flatback, decorated only to the front. Vent holes to reverse and underside.
Condition
Right facing: Good. No restoration. A few paint losses to their markings.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
Some wear to pup's nose.
KILN EFFECTS: couple of touch marks to the base;
shrinkage line to the underside and reverse;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to the spaniel.
Left facing: Very good. No restoration. A few paint losses to russet markings and pup's right eye.
KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to the spaniel and base;
glaze miss to the base.
