Pair Staffordshire russet & white No.6 spaniels

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 5.3ins high, 3.1ins wide, 2.2ins depth.

Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a spaniel, seated directly on the ground, no base.



Russet and white version.





Dull gilt embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front.



Vent hole to the reverse.



Maker's marks no.6 molded into the underside.




Condition

Right facing: Good. No restoration. Rubbing to gilt.



Slight wear to muzzle and reverse.







KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks around hind right leg.



Left facing: Generally good. Small flake to reverse.



Some paint losses to russet markings.





Some rubbing to gilt.



Slight wear to muzzle and reverse.





KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks along the mold join area to one side,



and to top of head.



RESTORATION: filled chip to lower base edge at reverse.
