Victorian, circa 1850. Tallest is 4.5ins high, 3.3ins wide, 2ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a poodle with a flower basket in it's mouth, stood on a footstool base.
Dull gilt base line.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Condition
CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration.
Flake to one petal and flakes to the shredded clay.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot caught in the glaze to the stool;
shrinkage crack underneath the right front paw;
shrinkage lines to the stool.
Left facing: Generally good.
Flake to ground in front on left and flakes to shredded ground.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched cracks where poodles four feet join base.
