Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 5.5ins high, 6.9ins wide, 2.2ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire inkwells which feature a whippet with hare, recumbent on a shaped base.
Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration. Two flakes to base edge.
A few paint losses to muzzle.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
Some wear to reverse and base.
Left facing: Good. No restoration. A few paint losses to right ear.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line to the right ear;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to the whippet's head.
