Pair Staffordshire Terrier with pups figure groups
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 9.6ins high, 7.3ins wide, 3.3ins depth.
Pair of Staffordshire groups which feature a terrier dog with her two pups, seated on a cobalt blue base.
Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front.

Condition
Right facing: Generally good. Small chip to glaze accumulation to reverse of base.
Some paint losses to dog's tail.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
Very slight wear to dog's markings.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to underside, running up base front,
and another above dog's hind right paw;
uneven glaze application to cobalt base;
touch marks to dog's face.
RESTORATION: stabilised and retouched hairline to front left leg/paw,
and to left side of collar;
filled chip to top pup's right ear.
Left facing: Generally good. Paint loss to dog's front right paw.
KILN EFFECTS: small firing pit to base side.
RESTORATION: stabilised and retouched crack to base,
dog's neck, running around to reverse,
and down right side mold join;
top pup reglued and join retouched;
stabilised and retouched hairline to right side of dog's face,
running round to reverse.
Cobalt blue and gilt line to base are overpainted.
