Small Pair Staffordshire Pearlware ram & ewe figures

pre-Victorian, circa 1820. Tallest is 1.9ins high, 2.4ins wide, 1.3ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire pearlware figures which feature a ram and a ewe, recumbent on a shaped hollow base.



Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.

CONDITION: Right facing: Generally good.

Some small flakes to lower base edge and ram's body.









KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line nose;



touch mark to front right leg;



kiln soot caught in the glaze.





RESTORATION. Filled chip to base at side.





Left facing: Generally good.

Chip to lower base edge.



Some small flakes to base and ewe's body.





Abrasion to nose.



RESTORATION: filled chip to base at side;





remodelled right ear.
