Small Staffordshire Pearlware ram bocage figure

pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 2.1ins high, 2.1ins wide, 1.3ins depth. Staffordshire pearlware bocage figure which features a ram, recumbent on a shaped base.



Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Condition

CONDITION: Fair.

Flakes to ram's nose,



horns and leaves.







KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to side of base;



kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the ram's body.



RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched hairline to base edge (still visible to underside).





Remodelled one leaf to bocage.
