Staffordshire stag and doe spill vase

Victorian, circa 1860. 8.3ins high, 7.3ins wide, 4.7ins depth. Staffordshire spill vase which features a recumbent stag and a doe, stood on a shaped base.





Dull gilt base line. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent hole to the reverse.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good. Hairline to the underside, continues 2 inches up the reverse.





A few paint losses to ground and spill.









Some rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: shallow firing crack to the doe's head.



RESTORATION. Remodelled doe's left ear, stag's left ear and right antler and branches on left side of spill.
