Staffordshire Pearlware child in cradle
pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 4.3ins high, 7.3ins wide, 2.8ins depth. Staffordshire pearlware figure which features a child asleep in a rocking cradle,
stood directly on the ground, no base. Multi-coloured version. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Condition
CONDITION: Generally good. KILN EFFECTS: a few flecks of stray coloured glaze to cradle;
a piece of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the blanket.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched cracks to the hood and rim of the cradle.
Remodelling to both handles and one of the rocking feet on the underside.
Retouched flake to baby's nose and paint losses to rim of cradle.
