Staffordshire castle with clock

Victorian, circa 1860. 8.9ins high, 8.7ins wide, 2.6ins depth. Staffordshire castle which features a clock face, stood on an oblong base.



Dull gilt base line and embellishment.



Flatback, decorated only to the front.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good.

Under rim chip not visible when sat on a surface.



Some paint losses to ground,





leaves,





around door



and clock.



Slight rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: firing hole to wall of castle near the door and one above top window;



glaze miss to the front of the base;



the piece leans, where it has moved during firing. It does however still sit upright.





RESTORATION. Remodelled crenulations to both turrets.









Stabilised and retouched crack to base edge at the reverse.
