Very Large Pair Staffordshire leg free spaniels
Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 15.9ins high, 11.8ins wide, 8.3ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire glass eyed figures which feature a very large spaniel,
front leg molded free, seated directly on the ground, no base.
White and gilt version. Bright gilt embellishment.
Flatback, decorated only to the front.
Vent hole to the underside.

Condition
CONDITION: Right facing: Good.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze miss to dog's back;
shrinkage cracks to right ear.
RESTORATION: Right front foot has been reglued and join retouched.
Replacement glass eyes.
Left facing: Good.
Small flake to reverse.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus and kiln grit caught in the glaze to dog's right side and right ear.
RESTORATION: Replacement glass eyes.
