Small Pair Staffordshire black & white spaniels

Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 6.5ins high, 3.9ins wide, 2.8ins depth.

Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a spaniel, seated directly on the ground, no base.



Black and white version.





Bright gilt embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.



Maker's marks painted to the underside of one.




Condition

Right facing: Good. No restoration.

Some rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: thin glaze application to black enamel;



a few flecks of stray coloured glaze to the front and the reverse.





Left facing: Good. No restoration.

Two shallow chips to the lower base edge.





Some rubbing to gilt.
