Staffordshire spaniel with flower basket

Victorian, circa 1860. 6.5ins high, 3.9ins wide, 2.6ins depth. Staffordshire figure which features a spaniel with a basket of flowers,
seated on an oval base.



Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.







Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Good.

Slight rubbing to gilt.





KILN EFFECTS: craze lines to the base;





flecks of stray coloured glaze to the spaniel's back and base;





small firing hole and firing pit to flowers;



over glazed shrinkage lines to the ground near basket.







RESTORATION. Retouched paint losses to markings,







muzzle,





left ear



and basket.
