Pair Staffordshire white and gilt spaniels
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 10.2ins high, 7.9ins wide, 3.5ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a spaniel with a parted fringe, seated directly on the ground, no base.
White and gilt version. Dull gilt embellishment.
Flatback, decorated only to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.
Condition
CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration.
Some small flakes to both ears.
Some paint loss to dog's nose and muzzle.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to top of head;
craze line to the mold join along it's back.
Left facing: Good. No restoration.
Some small flakes to lower base edge and tail.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: over glazed chip to front left paw;
small firing hole to dog's back.
