pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 7.3ins high, 6.5ins wide, 3.1ins depth. Staffordshire pearlware bocage figure which features a deer, stood on a shaped base.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Vent holes are present.
Condition
CONDITION: Fair. KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the deer.
RESTORATION. Head reglued and join retouched.
Stabilised and retouched crack to deer's back and head.
Remodelled ears.
Remodelled sections of bocage - with only 25% original remaining.
Stabilised and retouched hairline to hind left ankle.
Filled chips and retouched flakes and paint losses to bocage, tail, ground and deer.
