Small Staffordshire cow figure

Victorian, circa 1860. 2.8ins high, 2.8ins wide, 1.7ins depth. Staffordshire figure which features a cow, recumbent on an oval base. Black and white version.



Ochre painted base line. Decorated mainly to the front.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good. Small flakes to the face.



Paint losses to the ochre base line.



KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the lower base edge at front and reverse;





touch mark to the upper base edge at front.



RESTORATION: retouching to cow's markings, horns, ears, front left hoof, right eye and brow.
