Pair Staffordshire blind fiddler and old lady figures
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 11.6ins high, 4.9ins wide, 3ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures with a musical theme which feature a blind fiddler and an old lady, stood on a shaped base.
Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version.
Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Vent hole to the reverse.
Maker's marks to the underside of one.

CONDITION: Male: Fair.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to left collar.
RESTORATION. Head reglued and join retouched.
Also reglued and retouched through legs of dog and the man.
Stabilised and retouched cracks to dogs chest,
man's chest
and reverse.
Retouched paint losses and flakes to man's face,
dog's face
and markings,
ground
and cloak.
Female: Generally good.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack and chip to right side of base.
Retouched flakes to nose,
hat
and hands.
