pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 5.9ins high, 3.1ins wide, 3.9ins depth. Staffordshire pearlware figure which features a young boy reading a book, seated on a shaped base.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Open bottomed.

Condition
Good.
Chips and flaking to lower base edge,
flowers to top of base
and underside of boy's right foot.
A few small paint losses to tree stumps either side of boy.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to right arm.
RESTORATION: Retouched paint losses to book
and to both shoes.
