Victorian, circa 1850. Tallest is 9.6ins high, 3.8ins wide, 3.1ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures with a theatrical and literary theme which feature a dancing lady and gentleman, stood on a round base. Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent hole to the reverse.
Condition
Male: Good. A few paint losses to his hair.
Very slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECT: shrinkage lines along the mold joins.
RESTORATION: His left wrist reglued and join retouched.
Female: Generally good. Flake to her hat.
Paint losses to her shoes, bloomers and hair.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECT: firing hole to reverse.
RESTORATION: Her left arm remodelled from the elbow to the hand.
