Pair Staffordshire white and gilt cockerels/roosters
Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 12ins high, 9.7ins wide, 4.9ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures with a pastoral theme which feature cockerels/roosters, stood on a shaped base.
We think they have possibly been matched up together at some stage because they are of significantly different sizes.
White and gilt version. Bright gilt base line and embellishment.
Flatback, decorated only to the front.
Vent holes are present.

Condition
CONDITION: Right facing: Generally good.
Some wear to reverse and around the base.
Gilt almost entirely rubbed away.
KILN EFFECTS: small firing pit to feather below wattle;
some staining to crazing; notable crazing.
RESTORATION: stabilised and retouched hairlines to tail feathers,
mold joins
and base edge at reverse;
retouched paint losses.
Left facing: Generally good. No restoration.
Small chip to comb.
Wear around the base and to one leg.
Gilt almost entirely rubbed away.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze pops, mostly to the reverse;
staining to craze lines;
notable crazing.
