Staffordshire lady with sheep spill vase
Victorian, circa 1860. 6.3ins high, 4.1ins wide, 2.6ins depth.
Staffordshire spill vase with a pastoral theme which features a lady with a sheep, seated on an oval hollow base.
Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.
Open bottomed.
Book reference not found.
Condition
Good. No restoration. Tight hairline to sheep's hind left leg.
Chip to sheep's right ear.
Some paint losses to the lady's clothes and spill interior.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot caught in the glaze to the reverse.
