Pair Staffordshire seated Irish setters

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 12ins high, 7.9ins wide, 3.7ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature an Irish Setter, seated on a scroll work base.





Russet and white version. Dull gilt embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.





Vent hole to the reverse.

Condition

CONDITION: Right facing: Good. Some rubbing to gilt.





KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot caught in the glaze to the front and reverse;









touch mark to the front of the base;



shrinkage crack along the mold join to the dogs back.



RESTORATION: Minor retouched paint losses to some russet markings.









Retouched flakes to base, left paw and neck.











Left facing: Generally good. Some rubbing to gilt.

RESTORATION: Stabilised and retouched shrinkage line along mold join to neck and chest.





Stabilised and retouched shrinkage crack along the mold join, to top of head running down dog's back.









Filled chip to base edge and reverse.





Minor retouched paint losses to russet markings.
