Staffordshire Pearlware fox head stirrup cup

pre-Victorian, circa 1800. 3.1ins high, 5ins wide, 3.3ins depth. Staffordshire pearlware stirrup cup with a hunting theme which features a fox head, directly on the ground, no base.



Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

CONDITION: Generally good.

KILN EFFECTS: firing crack to underside;



flecks of stray cobalt glaze;





glaze run to the rim.



RESTORATION: section to rim reglued and join retouched;









left ear reglued and join retouched;



filled chip to inner rim.
