Pair Staffordshire russet & white spaniels

Victorian, circa 1890. Tallest is 7.9ins high, 5.5ins wide, 3.5ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a spaniel, seated directly on the ground, no base. Bright gilt embellishment.











Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.



Vent holes to reverse and underside. Maker's marks no.2 molded into the underside.

Condition

Right facing: Good. No restoration. Slight rubbing to gilt.



Slight wear to the reverse and tail.





KILN EFFECTS: over glazed shrinkage lines;









kiln grit caught in the glaze between the front paws.



Left facing: Good. No restoration. Minor paint losses to the dog's left ear.



Slight rubbing to gilt.



Slight wear to the reverse.



KILN EFFECTS: over glazed shrinkage lines;





kiln detritus caught in the glaze between the dog's left legs.
