Pair Staffordshire gilt & white leg-free spaniels
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 10.2ins high, 8.9ins wide, 5.9ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a spaniel, front leg molded free, seated directly on the ground, no base.
White and gilt version. Dull gilt embellishment. Flatback, decorated only to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.

Condition
CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration. Tight hairline behind dog's free molded front leg.
Small flake to edge of tail.
Very slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to rear of tail;
shrinkage crack to dog's left ear;
glaze run to the underside of the base from the dog's paws.
Left facing: Very good. No restoration. Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the underside of the base and one also to the dog's left ear.
