Staffordshire russet & white begging spaniel pitcher
Victorian, circa 1880. 10.3ins high, 4.3ins wide, 5.1ins depth. Staffordshire jug/pitcher which features a begging spaniel modelled with tricorn hat, floral decoration and ochre line around rim, stood directly on the ground, no base. Russet and white version. Bright gilt embellishment.
Decorated mainly to the front.

Good. Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: over glazed shrinkage lines just below left eye and to interior.
RESTORATION: Retouched paint loss to russet markings, rim, left eye and paws.
