Staffordshire blind harpist figure
Victorian, circa 1860. 14ins high, 9.3ins wide, 3.1ins depth. Staffordshire figure with a musical theme which features a blind harpist with his dog, seated on an oblong base.
Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.
Maker's marks painted to the underside.

Condition
CONDITION: Generally good.
Flake to dog's tail.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing;
touch mark to coat just above button;
shrinkage line to the underside of base;
glaze miss to the right arm, on and above elbow.
RESTORATION: harp reglued and joins retouched.
Filled chip to right side of dog's face.
Retouched flake to harpist's nose and chin.
