Pair Staffordshire zebras
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 6.5ins high, 5.3ins wide, 2ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a zebra, prancing on an oval base.
Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.

CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration.
Some small flakes to shredded clay.
Paint losses to mouth.
KILN EFFECTS: over glazed shrinkage line to belly and back;
glaze pop to base front.
Left facing: Generally good. No restoration.
Some small flakes to shredded clay.
KILN EFFECTS: firing hole to base front;
shrinkage crack with associated firing hole to neck;
over glazed shrinkage line to tail;
staining to neck;
kiln soot caught in the glaze.
