Large Staffordshire treacle glazed leg-free chunky spaniel

Victorian, circa 1860. 12ins high, 9.8ins wide, 7.9ins depth. Staffordshire figure which features a spaniel, front legs free, seated directly on the ground, no base.



Treacle glaze version.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.







Open bottomed.

CONDITION: Good.

KILN EFFECTS: firing crack to the tail;



glaze accumulation to the underside (some has been chipped off).







RESTORATION. Filled chips to base edge and tail.







Retouched flake to tail and reverse.
