Pair Staffordshire pugs with glass eyes
Victorian, circa 1900. Tallest is 12ins high, 9.8ins wide, 4.7ins depth. Pair of Bo'ness Staffordshire figures which feature pugs, seated on a diamond shaped base.
Brown version. Bright gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent holes to reverse and underside.

Condition
CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration. One small flake to top of base and another to tip of dog's left ear.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line to dog's back;
tiny glaze pops to the reverse;
glaze misses to the lower base edge.
Left facing: Good. No restoration. Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to neck just below right ear;
tiny glaze pops to the front;
over glazed chip to the front lower base edge.
