Pair Staffordshire Afghan hound & child figures
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 13.4ins high, 9.8ins wide, 4.7ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire groups which feature a child stood next to an oversized Afghan hound,
seated on a rectangular base.
White and gilt version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.

Condition
CONDITION: Right facing: Generally good.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the top of the left ear;
over glazed shrinkage line to the front of the base.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack to Afghan's head,
neck,
left ear
and back.
Left facing: Generally good.
A few paint losses to her skirt.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the Afghan's head;
over glazed shrinkage line to the Afghan's neck and chest.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack to Afghan's back.
