George II, dated 1752. 16.5ins by 8.25ins wide. 1752 religious verse sampler.

Unframed. The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in cross stitch throughout.

No border, divider lines in various patterns.

Colours yellow, cream, green, pale blue, brown and lilac. Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case and numbers 1-13.

and

A scattering of motifs, including hearts, crowns and fruit trees.

CONDITION: Fair. Three small holes.

Some loss of ground to the bottom and right-hand edges.

Some stitch losses to the divider lines, the date, motifs and letters/numbers.

Some colours very faded making them difficult to read. No colour run.
