1709 Band Sampler by Sary Outfil. Framed in a modern wood frame with rippled, old glass.
Fixed to card with wood backing.
The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches including Algerian eye.
No border, divider lines in various patterns. Colours cream, yellow, green, blue and brown. Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case. Signed and dated
'SARY OUTFIL IS MY NAME AND WITH MY NEEDLE I WROUGH THE SAME 1709'.
Consists of a variety of elaborately worked floral and foliate bands.
CONDITION: Good. One stain.
Colours are mostly good and strong with no noticeable fading. The silks bright and glossy. Stretching is slightly uneven.
Frame showing wear and chips, but structurally sound.
